Young at Heart is a passion-driven initiative that brings joy and creativity to seniors, their caregivers and staff through engaging painting events.

Founded in 2018 by Kimberley Smith in honor of her grandmother, our team of talented artists has enriched the lives of over 9,000 seniors in over 50 Retirement and long-term care homes across Ontario, Canada and is currently expanding to San Diego, California.

We are now broadening our focus to bring our events to corporate clients, boosting employee well-being and team collaboration.

We’re looking for the following roles to help us grow our presence both in Retirement Living and the corporate sector.
Role: Marketing Intern
Location: Remote (Ontario-based preferred) 
Duration: 3 months, Mon- Fri (20-30 hours a week) 
This is an intern volunteer role. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies to expand our services to corporate clients.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for long-term partnerships with corporations and long-term care homes.
  • Manage and grow our social media presence on Tik Tok, Facebook and Instagram engaging with followers and driving brand awareness.
  • Create a LinkedIn page from scratch for Young at Heart Painting and develop a robust content strategy, to show that we work with corporations and build customized employee engagement programs.
  • Support email marketing campaigns targeted at corporate clients and care homes.
  • Help develop content for our website, blog, and promotional materials.
  •  Collaborate with the team to create visually appealing and on-brand materials for​ pitches, presentations, and digital marketing.
  •  Track and report on marketing performance metrics, making recommendations for
  • improvement.

Qualifications
  • Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Passion for creativity, art, and making a difference in people’s lives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok) and email marketing tools (Mailchimp, Canva, Constant Contact, Adobe etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Role: Art Therapist
Location: Ontario and California
Position Type: Contract, flexible hours

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and conduct art therapy sessions with seniors and corporate teams to foster self-expression, social engagement, and emotional well-being.
  • Tailor sessions to meet the needs of individuals or small groups, providing step-by-step guidance to participants.
  • Collaborate with the Young at Heart team to design therapeutic art activities aligned with our mission to inspire creativity, mindfulness, and relaxation.
  • Support a compassionate environment, encouraging participants to enjoy the creative process without focusing solely on the outcome.
  • Provide a brief report on each session, noting any particular needs or observations for future improvements.

Qualifications
  • Must be a registered Art Therapist (ATR, ATR-BC, or equivalent certification).
  • Degree in Art Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working as an art therapist, ideally with seniors or diverse populations.
  • Passion for creativity, art, and making a meaningful impact.
  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation (preferred, as some travel may be required).
