Inspired by her grandmothers love for activities, Kimberley embarked on a journey to provide unique creative engagement programs for older adults. Kimberley has successfully created a platform impacting over 15,000 seniors and providing local artists opportunities to teach art and engage the community with their passions. Drawing from her background in marketing and graphic design, Kimberley brings her creative expertise and leadership skills. Kimberley strives to create meaningful experiences that inspire others to embrace their artistic abilities and discover their self expression through art, no matter what age. |
Giovanna - Mural Specialist
Toronto, Ontario, Canada Giovanna is an experienced art instructor and member of the Young at Heart Painting team. With a passion for creativity, she loves guiding participants through the painting process, encouraging them to express themselves and connect with others. Originally from Venezuela, Giovanna is a talented artist, designer, and entrepreneur with a love for music, dance, and environmental advocacy. She believes in the power of painting to provide a space for mindfulness and exploration, and is committed to bringing this experience to every painting session with Young at Heart. |
Nicole - Art Instructor
Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nicole is a self-taught artist who has been honing her talent over the last 9 years. After re-discovering art during a phase of deep self-discovery, Nicole re-sparked the joy she had as a child. In her paintings, Nicole’s use of bright colors and hopeful imagery aims to inspire people to create a bright life, no matter what darkness or suffering they have been through. Bringing people together and creating meaningful experiences is what Nicole is most passionate about, she is excited to share laughs, painting and joy with seniors who are truly, young at heart! |
Kayli - Art Instructor
San Diego, California, USA Kayli's life revolves around a passion for creating and learning. She is a student at UC San Diego, studying cognitive science with a focus on design and interaction, blending her intellectual curiosity with her creative spirit. Where she gets to learn about design processes in her studies, she’s also deeply involved in the art world in her free time, specializing in acrylic and graphite media. Making art has been integral to Kayli’s life for as long as she can remember, and she loves bringing her thoughts and feelings to life and synthesizing pieces together from the world around her. Beyond the classroom and studio, she is also a dancer and loves to read and knit, which equip her with various outlets to engage her mind and express herself through creating. Encouraging others to explore their own creativity and watching them discover their artistic side is incredibly rewarding for her, explaining why she always wanted to become an art teacher growing up. Kayli’s journey is all about following her passions and continuously growing as an artist, a teacher, and student. |
Emma - Art Instructor
York Region, Ontario, Canada With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Integrated Media from OCAD University, Emma’s artwork combines contemporary media practices with an interest in storytelling, and cultural expression. Through her recent academic journey, she’s obtained a Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services from Georgian College that deepened Emma’s understanding of how creativity, play, and shared experiences can enhance well-being and strengthen artistic communities. Emma is an experienced Art Instructor & Educational Programmer; she strongly believes Art & Culture is a pivotal foundation to life! She enjoys drawing, painting, photography, video, ceramics and crafting. Emma advocates the value and importance painting has during challenging parts of life and health benefits it provides to us. Her goal is to have participants feel comfortable with a paint brush, be confident with colours, and to have fun- especially if participants are new to painting or re- fuelling a passion to return to art! Aldo - Art Instructor
Vaughan, Ontario, Canada Aldo is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice spans both music and painting, allowing him to explore expression through different forms while staying grounded in a shared sense of creativity and connection. He is a graduate of York University, where he earned a Fine Arts degree in Visual Arts. Aldo’s perspective on both art and life has been shaped by his connection to older generations; he was raised by a father who had him late in life (at 60), naturally surrounding him with individuals whose stories and lived experiences carried a depth that left a lasting impression on him. Through these relationships, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of perspective that comes with time, as well as a sense of awe and wonder toward the complexity and meaning of life itself. For Aldo, art isn't always about creating something visually appealing, rather, it should express something deeper, something that reflects the soul and lived experiences of the individual. His naturally enthusiastic and friendly nature allows him to create an open and welcoming environment, encouraging others to let go of perfection and simply enjoy the creative process. Evelyn Bailey is a Canadian visual artist with a background in the art of animation, combining traditional painting with strong visual storytelling. Her early training shaped her understanding of composition, movement, and emotion, elements that continue to define her work today. She began her journey exploring realism and expressive art, gradually developing a style that blends symbolism, nature, and personal reflection. Her work often invites viewers to pause, feel, and connect to meaningful moments. A major turning point in her career came with her Niagara-inspired collection, “To Remember – A Moment in the Flow of Time.” Created after a life-changing car accident, this body of work reflects themes of memory, resilience, and purpose. Through flowing water and maple leaf imagery, her work captures both stillness and movement, marking a deeper, more intentional direction in her practice. Beyond the canvas, Evelyn is deeply involved in community-based art. She has led paint nights, workshops, and mentorship programs for youth and adults, creating welcoming spaces for people of all skill levels to explore creativity. Alexandrea - Art Instructor
York Region, Ontario Canada Alexandrea is a Canadian animator, graphic designer, and illustrator with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from OCAD University. She combines her love of storytelling with her lively visuals and character design to bring worlds to life. Creating stories, spreading imagination, and collaborating with her community fuels her passion for art. She has experimented in a variety of mediums during her time, and continues to practice with different methods of expression. Alexandrea primarily works with digital media; however, she also has worked with stop-motion, video, and sound! As an artist, Alexandrea aspires to teach the beauty of art with her community. She believes that art is the purest form of self-expression and to experience it as a community is so valuable. The imagination is deeply powerful and the opportunity to share inspiration, joy, and comfort with her community is something she continues to look forward to every day. |
Skye - Art Instructor
Oakville, Milton, Mississauga Ontario, Canada Art has been Skye's lifelong love affair, and she's been drawing since she was a little girl, with creativity running deep in her blood. Coming from a family of artists, including her father whose own artistic path continues to inspire her, Skye grew up understanding that art isn't just something you do, it's something you are. Skye's formal training began with a degree in Fashion Illustration in the Philippines, and she has continued to grow her craft through numerous fine art courses at Sheridan College. Her artistic range is wide and heartfelt, from soulful portraits and dreamy landscapes to beloved pet commissions that capture the personality of every furry family member she paints. Skye is a natural facilitator and guide. She has led online summer camps where children design and become their own comic book superheroes, unleashing their imaginations and discovering the hero within themselves. She's currently developing her own comic book series featuring herself and her two sisters as superheroes who inspire others to step into their power and discover their own innate gifts. She is also in the process of publishing her debut novel, The Shift, a spellbinding tale of love, time travel, and otherworldly beings. Skye is thrilled to bring that same creative magic to seniors in her community, believing it's never too late to pick up a paintbrush, discover a new passion, and create something to be proud of. |
Vicky - Art Instructor
York Region, Toronto, Ontario Canada Vicky Wang is a Toronto-based artist and painter who sees creativity as a vital part of how we connect with the One who created us, with one another, and with the world around us. Vicky is a graduate of the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU)’s Creative Industries degree program providing her lifelong skills for management, leadership, entrepreneurial roles in arts and culture. Through vibrant paintings, continuous-line portraits, and art experiences, Vicky loves creating spaces where people can feel seen, express themselves, and discover the joy of making something with their own hands and hearts. Vicky believes we are all created to create, and that making art can be a beautiful way to discover more of who we are and bring to life what’s already within us. With a warm and encouraging approach, she brings light, playfulness, and genuine curiosity to everything she creates and everyone she meets. Whether she’s painting large-scale artwork, drawing someone’s portrait, or leading an art workshop, Vicky’s hope is to make art feel accessible, meaningful, and full of joy. |
