Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct art therapy sessions with seniors and corporate teams to foster self-expression, social engagement, and emotional well-being.
- Tailor sessions to meet the needs of individuals or small groups, providing step-by-step guidance to participants.
- Collaborate with the Young at Heart team to design therapeutic art activities aligned with our mission to inspire creativity, mindfulness, and relaxation.
- Support a compassionate environment, encouraging participants to enjoy the creative process without focusing solely on the outcome.
- Provide a brief report on each session, noting any particular needs or observations for future improvements.
Qualifications
- Must be a registered Art Therapist (ATR, ATR-BC, or equivalent certification).
- Degree in Art Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience working as an art therapist, ideally with seniors or diverse populations.
- Passion for creativity, art, and making a meaningful impact.
- Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Reliable transportation (preferred, as some travel may be required).

She also holds a postgraduate diploma in HR Management and Adult Education/Staff Training. With a passion for creativity and teaching, Fionne has organized diverse paint nights, catering to groups ranging from girl scouts to corporations.
In her leisure time, Fionne finds solace in nature and immerses herself in various artistic endeavors. Whether it's reading, listening to audiobooks, doodling, painting, or crafting poetry, she constantly seeks inspiration from her surroundings. Her artistic journey has led her to explore a wide range of mediums, including charcoal, printmaking, watercolour, acrylics, cosplay, woodworking, stone carving, 3D printing, welding, and brass casting. For years, she ran her own business specializing in designing landscapes and crafting stunning seasonal planters for both businesses and private homes. Her artistic touch brought beauty and vibrancy to outdoor spaces, showcasing her eye for detail and design.
Lisa's true passion lies in working with seniors in Long Term Care, With an infectious enthusiasm, she inspires individuals to explore their own artistic potential. - Setting up and taking down, setting out tablecloths, filling paints in pallets, filling water cups, clean up afterwards including washing brushes
- Make sure art space is left clean and tidy
- Must be early to set up and start the class on time
